About Us

Headteacher's Welcome

Welcome to St. Joseph’s Park Hill

We are an independent, co-educational Roman Catholic Pre- School and Primary School, founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1913, for children aged 3-11 years.

We have been at our present site since 1957.  We have a strong Catholic Ethos and warmly welcome children of all faiths.

Our school is set away from the main road between Padiham and Burnley, East Lancashire, in beautiful landscaped grounds with lots of space for the children to play and learn. We place high priority on academic achievement and have high expectations of every child in all aspects of school life.

Small class sizes, a strong emphasis on English and Maths and a broad and creative curriculum ensure that all our children flourish and achieve their potential.

As we are a small school, everyone is known and valued and we are proud of our warm, friendly, caring atmosphere.

We have excellent sporting and music provision and a wide variety of extra-curricular activities.  We also provide before and after school care and a Summer school.

Our Mission Statement states that we “prepare our children for the challenges of the future” and so we recognise the need for our children to be effective communicators, to be confident and independent, to value themselves and others and to be aware of their responsibilities in their families and homes, in their school, in their own community and in the wider world.

Most of our children come to the school as a result of recommendations from parents of children who already attend.

If you wish your child to have an education that is based on traditional values but with a progressive outlook, please get in touch to arrange a visit.

We look forward to welcoming you!
