PA End of Year Report

ST JOSPEH’S PARKHILL PA - END OF YEAR REPORT

After a busy year for the PA we are pleased to be able to tell you about the monies raised this year:

The Christmas fair and the parties held for the children in school were purely social events and the Pa did not seek to make a profit.

The main fundraising for the autumn term was the 100 club which raised £1309.63 and the Christmas Draw which raised £ 409.39

Our involvement with the bulb man was new this year and made £292.65.

The Irish Ball at Mytton fold was a great night out and raised £5400.

The Easter egg hunt was a fun family day out at school and raised £590.00

Having hosted 2 very successful fund raising events in April it as decided we should not hold a summer fair this year.  As an alternative we decided to hold a joint Duck Race and treasure hunt at Barley which made £260.00 profit.

Total raised --à  £10,261 !!!

(this includes including match funding from VODAFONE of £2000)

As well as making it we have also been spending it and we are pleased to have been able to help so many different areas in the school:

Lap top computer for Miss Ramsey in Class 7  in support of her work with the smart white boards. (£600)

Musical instruments for Mrs Goffee in support of  music lessons  (£600).

Support for Class 7 trip in form of funding for 2 extra activities.

Purchase of “robust” music machine for nursery (£300)

Software for Smart Boards (£200 approx)

School Notice board for the Car Park (£1394.00)

2 DVD players for use with the Smart Boards

Currently we are seeking to help school in creating a more attractive outside environment.  This project would cover several areas:

A canopy shaded areas for the nursery playground,

A willow tunnel in the playing field with a wild grasses area,

Refurbishment of the rear playground by covering 1/3 with a special safety surface and installing climbing equipment, having a middle section with different surfaces/textures and leaving the remaining larger part available for football for the older boys.

All children would be able to make use of these facilities and it would be especially helpful for the before and after school club.  Final costs for this project are not yet available.

This year the Pa have tried very hard to offer a good mix of purely social and then serious fundraising events.  We would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support and to say that we hope you have enjoyed the year as much as we have.

Any suggestions for future events are always welcome!
