Admissions 2007/2008

You may be considering a school for your child at the moment or for the future. This is a very important decision, as the first years of your child’s education provide the foundation for his/ her future.  No doubt you will look at many schools, and I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to come and see ours.  If you value small classes, an enviable academic reputation, extra-curricular activities, and provision for looking after children before and after school, then we may be what you are looking for.

St Joseph’s Park Hill is a small, well-established, friendly school with an average of 22 children in each class.  We prepare our children for the challenges of the future in a nurturing and stimulating environment built on Catholic foundations.  Although we are a Catholic school, children who do not share our faith are warmly welcomed.

Apart from a well equipped gym, we offer football, rugby, netball, rounders, swimming, cricket and badminton.  Ballet is included in the curriculum for infant children.  On the musical side, we have a school choir, and children have the opportunity to learn the recorder, violin and a brass instrument if they wish.

We are an independent school, and follow an enhanced National Curriculum.  In addition to SATs, we prepare children for entrance examinations to independent and grammar schools.  The fees for the year 2007/2008 start at £3,780, which may be paid either quarterly or by monthly standing order – a very reasonable price for an excellent foundation for your child.

Parents who wish to send their children to Saint Joseph's are invited to look around the school and are interviewed by the headteacher. Children who are attending another school spend a morning in class and are assessed.

Once a place has been offered, the application form should be completed and sent, along with the deposit, to the office.
