We have arranged a two night residential trip for Year 5 to the Cranedale Centre near Malton in North Yorkshire from Sunday 10th to Tuesday 12th June 2007. This will be our sixth visit to the centre. The course will concentrate on Environmental Studies and is designed to meet the requirements of the National Curriculum in science, history and geography. The children will study the moorland environment, the seashore and the history of the local village. Although primarily educational, the residential course encourages the children to become more independent and confident, creates close friendships and prepares them for the main school trip in Year 6.
The Cranedale Centre offers excellent accommodation and catering. Equipment is provided, and the staff are highly experienced and qualified. The children will be accompanied by Mrs Fulforth and another member of staff.
The cost of the trip is £150 which includes transport, accommodation, all meals and snacks, tuition and use of equipment and minibus. A deposit of £50 is payable now, with the balance due by 20th April.
