This half term  (Summer 2 June & July) your child will be covering the following topics.

ENGLISH : In English we will continue to focus upon the Year 7 spelling bank of work and link the London Trip into various writing activities, including reports, diaries, advertising and poetry.

MATHS :In maths I intend to continue work on Mental Maths as well as focused teaching sessions that cover Number and Calculator work, shape and space and data handling.  We will also start on the transition and Year 7 topics as preparation for the transfer into Key Stage 3.

SCIENCE :In science we will start the Year 7 topics as an introduction to Key Stage 3.  There are areas that we have already addressed this year but the new topics include cells, acids and alkalis and simple chemical reactions.

R.E.:Much of our RE work this half term will be carried out during the Themed Week, which will explore World Religions.  Year 6 will engage in learning about Sikhism, particularly, their beliefs and customs.  We will also continue our work investigating The Sisters of Mercy.

HISTORY/ GEOGRAPHY : The children will spend this half-term developing their Geographical understanding and knowledge of our capital city.  The school visit to London will form a core part of the Geography work and activities.

ART: We will continue to focus upon the topic Performance Art, which links to the children's Summer Production of The Wind in the Willows.

GYMNASTICS AND GAMES ::Games on offer this half term include Rounders, Cricket and Tennis.  During PE sessions children will focus on Athletics, including track and field Event
