Our school field is the new home of a fantastic, horse-shoe shaped willow tunnel and benches.
The living sculpture , which will root and grow, was constructed by all the Key Stage 11 children, working under tuition from our visiting expert, Jeff Allen from Eco- Arts Creative Willow Craft.
The children braved wind and rain, taking turns to dig holes, plant the willow, strengthen the tunnel by weaving support branches and bringing wheelbarrows of chippings to act as a base.
A hugh thank-you to the Parents Association who funded the work. We are delighted with the finished design and can't wait to see how it looks covered in leaves.
