Recently in Science, Year 4 have been investigating electrical circuits and conductors. Children have been making circuits with several components in item such as motors, buzzers, bulbs and obviously batteries. They have been investigating different voltage within circuits and have also been making their own switches out of everyday objects such as paperclips, drawing pins and foil.
Educational Gymnastics - In PE Year 4 have been using the apparatus in the gymnasium to take/support their body weight on a variety of points (small parts of the body) and patches (larger parts of the body.
They will be developing a controlled sequence of movements next week.
As part of Year 4s Science topic this term we conducted an experiment with ice and different materials.
The children's focus was to prevent the ice cubes from melting. They investigated certain materials and how they could use that material to help them with their focus.
Many children were successful as you can see! Their ice cubes managed to survive for up to 30 Minutes.
Autumn Term 2 - 2007
As part of our DT topic Year 4 have been 'Investigating Money Containers'.
We investigated several types of money containers and looked at their features. We then decided on our own design ideas, wrote them down on a design sheet and made a template.
We then used various methods for making our containers.
Here we are in our 'Money Container Sweat Shop!'.
